Cyber Healing. What do you think it means? We all know about cyber baiting, cyber bullying, cyber fame and etc. But is there such a term call cyber healing? So in this blog i will show you what cyber healing means and not how you might think it is.
If you have watched the video at the top. That is an example what people might think the term "Cyber Healing" means and that is not what i'm trying to portray in this blog.
Even though it is a way to heal people in the cyber world. But let's put religious belief aside and put things like what you can do or eat to make you feel better.

Cyber Healing is defined by when people go online to consult doctors on their doubts regarding their illness. This is also known as online medical consultations. There are also online pharmacy prescriptions. This is to enable patients to get their medications from online pharmacies. CGH online pharmacy is an example of an online pharmacy that is available in Singapore.
There are many reasons why cyber healing are popular to people nowadays :
- People are shy or embarrassed to consult doctors personally or to even leave the house, if the patient's condition is on the external parts of the body.
- If the person is too sick and could not leave the house because the clinic is to far away from the person's home.
- The patient has a very important question or have doubts about his/her current medical condition and/or the medicine that has been prescribed by the previous doctors.
- Doing everything in the comfort of their own homes.

- The people who wants to make use of the online medical consultations, can choose to contact the doctors live via video confrencing or just contacting through their emails.
All the doctors have high qualifications which enable them to have quite a more in depth understanding on the medical conditions that the patient described on the webpage. Some might also be a specialist or an expert.
If you were to observe closely, for each doctor, there is a stated consultation fee based on every minute that the patient talks and consults from the doctor and golden stars that indicates the ratings of the doctors.

Apart from consultations, there are also online pharmacies. Where patients can get their prescription products or over the counter products without having to leave their own home.
This is similar to a blog shop on any online stores. The difference between getting a prescription from a real pharmacy at the clinic, and getting one from an online pharmacy, is that, the patient does not need a doctor's prescription to buy the medicine from the online pharmacy.
- Advantages of cyber healing:
- Simplest way to strengthen excellent treatment method.
- Get advice from doctors from around the world, with far better consultation advices compared to those found in our country especially if there is a limited specialist or experts in the country.
- More flexibility with timing, anytime and anywhere, the patient can send a notification or query to the doctors avaiable, even without having to go to the clinic if there is only a minor condition in which, can be treated easily.
Disadvantages of cyber healing:
- Less accuracy in diagnosis, since most of the doctors will only answer the patient's queries and give them advice, based on the current situation, and not referring to the patient's past medical history.
- More chances of wrong prescriptions. As the patient might believe that what was told by the doctors might be entirely true.This may lead to getting a medicine that is incompatible with the patient's body.
- There is no restriction for consumers to buy the medicine online and this may allow consumers to buy in a large amount or to minors that may misuse it.
In conclusion, I think cyber healing are suitable only for minor conditions where
patients do not want to waste time going to the clinic, and ended
up paying more than expected. And online pharmacies should not
be made available to the public because, whoever that is buying
the products, their identity is not certain. Maybe some teenagers
who wants to get a particular drug just to get an overdose and
the feeling of being in a state of 'high' and more. This could be
very dangerous.
